Hello!
I’m writing a new blog in order to tell you thingsabout some festivals that happen this summer because we are young and many of us like music. The holidays are the best time to enjoy music and to visit some unknown cities in France or abroad, why not?

That’s why I am going to tell you some of the main festivals of this summer. I want to let you make own opinion about each one.

Read me and don’t hesitate to look at the videos and to leave comments.

Festival des Terre Neuvas – Bobital

As a person from Brittany, I can’t help telling you some things about this small festival.
I’m sure that you have never heard anything about it but you should because it is very famous in the region.
Moreover, the artists who are coming are totally great this year, just look at this:
Massilla Sound System (don’t confuse with the blog of Gwen
), Scorpions, Travis, Didier Super, Hushpuppies, DUB Incorporation, IAM, and others I don’t write the names because they are unknown but it must be interesting to see them in concert.

Oops, I forgot to tell you something.
The festival takes place in Bobital, a very nice city on the North Coast of Brittany, near Saint Malo. I swear you it is a very pleasant place to hear music and have fun. Come on, I’m waiting for you.

Eurockéennes

Now let’s talk about one of the most famous festivals in France, you all know it : The Eurockeennes de Belfort, which takes place in Belfort between the fourth and the sixth of July.

This festival is, I think a little less rock than the others. Nevertheless, the artists are pretty good with: Moby, The Offspring, Cali, Massive Attack, Ben Harper, and many others.

The main drawback of this festival is where it takes place , as you can hear in its name, in the city of Belfort, at the East of France, between the hot cities of Mulhouse and Besançon. It’s quite far for lots of people and the region is not particularly attractive in summer. But, when you will be there you will quickly forget that and enjoy the music.

Solidays

This one takes place in Paris between the sixth and the eighth of July. This year the festival celebrates its tenth anniversary and for this event, the number of performances went up with 80 concerts and about 200 artists. The aim of this festival is not just to be a big music show but to raise funds in order to develop research against the big problem of AIDS. So, if you want to help the fight against this scourge go to this festival!

Solidays

The Wechter Festival

Between the third and the sixth of July, if you don’t know what to do or if you just like good music, such as electronic music or rock , this festival is for you. You probably don’t know this one but in fact it is very famous in Belgium and the artists coming are part of the best I think. Just look at this :

2Many DJs Soulwax The Chemical Brothers Radiohead Digitalism Ben Harper The Hives Moby or Beck. The main drawback is the price of the ticket which is about 75€ per day and 165 € for the four days. The price for one day is too high I think. But it’s the only festival with such famous groups at the same time.

The Vieilles Charrues

Why wouldn’t you go to Brittany on this summer.Sure that you ‘ve never been in a place that is so isolated from the rest of the world because the Vieilles Charrues Festival takes places in the very middle of Brittany with nothing around. You’re isolated for 4 days (between the 17th and 20th of July) () and the atmosphere is very pleasant with very good bands. This year you will be able to see ZZ Top MotorHead Ben Harper Dub Incorporation Morcheeba and lots of other very good bands. Don’t hesitate, if you have one festival to go on this summer, it’s it!!!

Rock en Seine

Another good festival which takes place at the end of the holidays. It’s in the National Park of Saint Cloud, near Paris. This year, it’on the 28th and 29th of August. You can camp there and you will be able to see Justice Keziah Jones Amy Winehouse Kaiser Chief and many others. You will never believe you are in Paris there! So go and enjoy!
